Installing Autodock Tools in Windows Platform...

Guys, today i am going to give instruction of installing AutoDock tools in Windows platform. AutoDock is a Docking software used generally in research work and mainly designed to run in Linux environment.So if you want to install the tools then you need Linux.But today i am going to tell you how to install AutoDock Tools Without Linux Environment.So let start the journey...

Requirements :-

At first you have to download some software from the internet.They are:

1. AutoDock parameter files get here

2. Cygwin setup file get here

3. MGLTools 1.5.4  get here

(***Note : Internet connection is required during installation process)

Procedure:

Step1:- Download AutoDock and AutoGrid parameter files. 

For this goto the above link and download AutoDocksuite-4.2.2-i86Cygwin.tar.gz.Now extract the above downloaded file. You will get autodocksuite-4.2.2-i86Cygwin > i86Cygwin > autodock4.exe, autogrid4.exe "Autodock4.exe" "Autogrid4.exe" these two file from folder "i86Cygwin" are required for installation purpose.

Step2:-Download and Install Cygwin Download link

Step3:- Install MGL Tools 1.5.4 or latest.

(file size:36 mb, Download).

You have completed 70 percent of your work.

Step4:- Now copy those two file named as "Autodock4.exe" "Autogrid4.exe" and paste these files into bin folder. Path is "c:\cygwing\usr\local\bin".

Step5:- Now run cygwin and type : which autodock4  then press enter.

It Should automatically find AutoDock 4 and will show you response similar to this"/usr/local/bin/autodock4" .That's it, your work is done.

Now simply run MGLtools from shortcut and start Docking.
